U.S.A. Beef Act
Sponsored By: Senator Mike Rounds
Introduced
Summary
Makes "Product of U.S.A." on beef mean the meat comes only from cattle born, raised, and slaughtered in the United States. The bill would limit that label for domestic sales and explicitly allows similar wording on beef intended and offered for export to foreign countries.

New U.S.-only labeling for beef
This bill would limit use of "Product of U.S.A." on beef labels. Labels could use that phrase only if the cattle were born, raised, and slaughtered in the United States. The rule would apply to beef sold in U.S. markets. It would not apply to beef intended and offered for export. Producers, slaughterhouses, packers, processors, and retailers would need to follow the new labeling rule. If enacted, it would take effect upon enactment.
