In-state custom slaughter exemption
If enacted, this bill would exempt custom slaughter and meat preparation at in-state facilities from Federal Meat Inspection Act checks. You could use the exemption only if the facility follows your State's law. Products must be prepared and sold only inside the same State. Allowed buyers include household consumers and in-State restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores. The bill would also say it does not override State meat laws, so States keep their own rules.
