Sponsored By: Senator Sen. Luján, Ben Ray [D-NM]
Introduced
Summary
Make PHMSA's gas pipeline leak detection and repair rule effective upon enactment. This bill would codify the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration's January 17, 2025 final rule under 49 U.S.C. 60102(q) as taking effect on the date of enactment and would preserve the Secretary's authority to update those regulations or adopt standards that are more protective than the rule made effective here.
