Summary

Repeals D.C.'s 2022 policing reform and restores prior local law. This bill would repeal the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act of 2022 (D.C. Law 24-345) and revive any provision that the 2022 Act amended or repealed, effectively restoring the status quo ante. The measure is limited to undoing that law and does not add funding, tax changes, new programs, eligibility rules, enforcement provisions, phase-in dates, or targeted geographic or demographic rules.

Undo D.C. 2022 policing reforms

This bill would repeal the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act of 2022 (D.C. Law 24-345). If enacted, it would restore any law changed by that 2022 Act as if the Act never passed. This would change policing rules, civilian oversight, and criminal procedures in the District of Columbia. It would apply only to laws and officials in Washington, D.C.
