Tighter CDL rules for immigrant drivers

This bill would require people applying for a commercial driver's license to be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or authorized by USCIS to drive for work. States could only issue a CDL to people who meet one of those three tests. If enacted, this could stop some noncitizen workers from getting CDLs and the jobs that require them. The rule would take effect upon enactment.
