Support for long-distance Amtrak routes

This bill would let Amtrak receive "such additional sums as may be necessary" to support long-distance routes. Those routes mean the set listed in 49 U.S.C. 24102. The authority would apply only to routes that exist on the date of enactment. The bill does not set a dollar amount, cap, phase-in, or sunset. If enacted, this could help keep long-distance passenger trains running for households and communities that rely on them.
