Doctors could administer investigational drugs
If enacted, the bill would let the Attorney General register doctors to directly give certain Schedule I investigational drugs to eligible patients under the Federal Right to Try law. Doctors would apply electronically and must already be registered to handle Schedule II–V controlled substances. Applications must include manufacturer confirmation the drug is eligible, a supply agreement and administration guidance, the quantity requested, proof state law allows treatment, relevant training or credentials, and a description of storage and treatment sites. The Attorney General would approve or issue a review order within 45 days of a complete application; supplemental quantity notices would be deemed approved after 30 days unless denied. The Attorney General would issue interim rules within 240 days and final rules within 2 years.
