Agritourism advisor at USDA
This bill would require the Secretary of Agriculture to name a senior official in the Office of the Under Secretary for Rural Development as an Agritourism Advisor. The Advisor would promote agritourism in every State, U.S. territory, and on Indian Tribal land, covering farm tours, outdoor recreation, events, direct sales, accommodations, and other agritourism activities. The Advisor would coordinate USDA agencies, advise the Secretary, provide outreach and technical assistance, help with business planning, marketing, and financial literacy, and consolidate federal resources for agritourism businesses. This would take effect upon enactment.
