Blocks the WISeR prior-authorization model in Medicare. This bill would prohibit the Secretary of Health and Human Services from implementing the WISeR model described in the notice "Medicare Program; Implementation of Prior Authorization for Select Services for the Wasteful and Inappropriate Services Reduction (WISeR) Model" or any substantially similar model, stopping that prior-authorization approach for select Medicare services.

Stops WISeR prior authorization in Medicare
If enacted, this bill would prohibit HHS from implementing the WISeR prior-authorization model (90 Fed. Reg. 28749 (July 1, 2025)). It would also block any substantially similar prior-authorization model under the Medicare program. Medicare beneficiaries and their providers would not face new prior-authorization steps for the services the WISeR notice targets. The prohibition would take effect upon enactment.
