Limits U.S. natural gas exports
This bill would require the President to restrict or prohibit exports of natural gas produced in the United States to help keep domestic energy costs low. The President would make the restriction by writing a rule and could set terms and conditions to carry out the purpose. The President would be able to exempt some exports if they are consistent with the national interest and would not unreasonably raise residential consumer costs, or if they are critical for national security or a strategic ally. Any exemption would not take effect unless Congress approves it in a joint resolution. If enacted, this would take effect upon enactment.
