Bill Overview
Analyzed Economic Effects
2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
Ban federal funding for equity centers
If enacted, no Federal funds could be used to support Equity Assistance Centers described in part 270 of title 34, Code of Federal Regulations, or any similar center. This prohibition would apply notwithstanding any other law and would take effect upon enactment. Schools, districts, organizations, and the students they serve would lose that federal funding source.
Grants to hire veterans on campus
If enacted, the Secretary of Education would award competitive grants to colleges and universities to hire veterans as campus security personnel. Schools would need to apply at times and in ways the Secretary requires. Grant recipients would have to use the funds to hire veterans for security on their campus. The provision would take effect upon enactment and uses the bill's definitions for campus, institution, Secretary, and veteran.
