Resume probationary time for federal workers
If enacted, this bill would let certain federal workers get credit for probationary time when reappointed. They must have been involuntarily separated between January 20, 2025 and January 20, 2029. The new probation length would equal the usual probation minus the time they already served, not below zero. A covered appointment must be to the former agency and as similar as practicable to the prior job. The Act would expire on January 20, 2029.
