Preserve FDIC logo protections
If enacted, this joint resolution would disapprove the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection rule that withdrew Consumer Financial Protection Circular 2022-02 (87 Fed. Reg. 35866 (June 14, 2022)). The resolution would provide that the withdrawal published at 90 Fed. Reg. 20084 (May 12, 2025) shall have no force or effect. If passed, this would keep the Circular in place to help stop companies from misleading customers about FDIC deposit insurance and the FDIC name or logo. Banks and other firms would still need to follow that guidance. The change would take effect upon enactment.
