Summary
Preserves the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)'s 2015 rule on Disclosure of Consumer Complaint Narrative Data. The joint resolution would disapprove a CFPB rule that sought to withdraw that 2015 disclosure rule, preventing the withdrawal and keeping the earlier disclosure rule in place.

Keep consumer complaint narratives public
If enacted, this joint resolution would disapprove the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection rule published at 90 Fed. Reg. 20084 (May 12, 2025). That rule would have withdrawn the CFPB's 2015 rule on Disclosure of Consumer Complaint Narrative Data (80 Fed. Reg. 15572 (March 24, 2015)). If enacted, the resolution would state the withdrawal rule 'shall have no force or effect' and would preserve the 2015 disclosure rule. Consumers and consumer advocates would keep public access to complaint narratives. Banks and other companies covered by the CFPB would continue to face the disclosure-related rules.
