Cancel DOE appliance certification rule
This resolution would disapprove a DOE rule published at 89 Fed. Reg. 81994 (Oct. 9, 2024). If enacted, the rule would have no force or effect and could not be enforced. Manufacturers, importers, distributors, and retailers would not have to follow the new certification, labeling, or enforcement requirements. Consumers would not get the new energy labels or enforcement that could help them pick lower-energy products or lower bills. If enacted, the disapproval would take effect upon enactment.
