Licensing boards for key trades extended to 2032

The law keeps five state licensing boards in place: Barbers, Cosmetologists, Professional Land Surveyors, Real Estate Appraisers/Appraisal Management Companies/Home Inspectors, and Individual Tax Preparers. Their laws and rules stay in effect until after July 1, 2032, under Maryland Program Evaluation Act review. This prevents any lapse in licensing and oversight for these trades. The law takes effect June 1, 2026. The Maryland Department of Labor must report to the Joint Audit and Evaluation Committee by July 1, 2030 on these boards.
