More mental health help for military families

The law provides grants to local nonprofits to grow behavioral health care for service members, veterans, and their families. Beginning October 1, 2026, eligible nonprofits can get funding if their mission is behavioral health or serving service members, veterans, or their families. Eligible people for services include service members (not just active duty), veterans, spouses, children, and stepchildren. This expands access to care and does not give direct cash to households.
