Maryland plans must cover scalp cooling

Beginning January 1, 2027, Maryland health plans that cover chemotherapy must also cover scalp cooling systems to help keep hair during treatment. This applies to insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and HMOs in Maryland. It applies to policies issued, delivered, or renewed on or after January 1, 2027. The device must be built for repeated use and mainly used for medical care.
