Beginning July 1, 2026, eligible 16- and 17-year-olds can work the same hours and days during school weeks as during vacations or holidays. You qualify if you are enrolled in a bona fide college program. You also qualify if you are in a career and technical education (CTE) program and the job is with an employer approved by that program. A CTE program means work-based learning approved by the state education office or your school district, including Core Plus programs.
