Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Workers paid if self-insured employer decertified

When a self-insured employer is decertified, the state pays the workers’ compensation you are owed. This covers private self-insured employers and city or county employers that lose certification. Your benefits continue and are paid by the Department.

Decertified self-insurers must repay the state

A decertified self-insured employer must repay the Department for all payments made on its behalf. The Department bills at least every three months. The director sets rules on billing and other ongoing obligations.
