Sealed bids required on larger joint-agency jobs

Beginning July 27, 2025, joint operating agencies must use sealed bids for bigger purchases and projects. Purchases of materials, equipment, or supplies need sealed bids when the estimate is over $30,000, before sales tax. Construction on generating projects and related facilities needs sealed bids over $150,000 when more than one craft or trade is involved, or over $75,500 when only one craft or trade is involved. Amounts are before sales tax. Agencies must follow the state’s sealed-bid procedures in RCW 54.04.070 and 54.04.080.
