Beginning July 27, 2025, more Washington campuses can offer help to students who are homeless or who were in foster care when they finished high school. Public four-year colleges and an accredited public tribal college in Washington can run this program if the state funds it. Help can include laundry, storage, showers, reduced-price meals or food banks, technology, short-term housing during breaks, and case management. Schools can plan to turn unused campus property into affordable student housing. Participating schools must also share contacts for local nonprofits, the housing authority, and the Office of Homeless Youth.
