Washington real estate research center funded through 2035

The law keeps the Washington real estate research center and its funding account in place through September 30, 2035. Broker fee receipts go into the Washington real estate research account. Money in the account may be spent only after appropriation and only for the center’s work. The director must keep a written agreement with a college or university to host the center. The center provides research and education on real estate and housing, including affordable housing.

Higher license fee for brokers

Beginning July 27, 2025, real estate brokers and managing brokers pay a $20 fee when they get or renew a license. This was $10 before. It applies to original licenses and to renewals that expire after October 1, 1999, including inactive renewals. This fee authority ends September 30, 2035.
