Since July 1, 2021, DCYF offers a noncredit, community-based training that counts toward child care license education rules. It is an alternative to college credit classes and matches the state’s core early learning skills. The training is available in multiple languages and includes culturally relevant practices. It is offered in both rural and urban areas. The fee cannot be more than $250 per person.
Licensed child care providers have until at least August 1, 2030 to meet staff education rules. They can earn an early childhood education initial or short certificate, or complete the community-based training by that date.
