Beginning July 27, 2025, if a project displaces your farm, nonprofit, or small business, you can get reestablishment help. For local or other non‑state projects, the payment can be up to the greater of $200,000 or the federal amount. For Washington state‑agency projects, through August 1, 2030, the cap is the greater of $100,000 or the federal amount. Starting August 1, 2025, these dollar caps rise by 2% each year.
Beginning July 27, 2025, if your business or farm is displaced and you meet the lead agency’s rules, you can choose a fixed payment instead of itemized move and restart payments. The fixed amount cannot be less than the minimum set in federal law. You are not eligible if your only business at the site is renting that dwelling to others.
Beginning July 27, 2025, if you are displaced from your home and qualify for regular payments, you can choose a cash expense and dislocation allowance instead. The lead agency sets the allowance by a schedule. You must pick this option instead of the regular payments.
