2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
State employee medical plans under chapter 41.05 RCW must follow the same 12‑month hormone refill rules. This means eligible state employees can get a 12‑month supply at once on the same schedule as other plans when their plan is issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026.
Beginning January 1, 2026, health plans issued or renewed on or after that date that cover prescription hormone therapy must pay for a 12‑month refill given at once. This applies only to drugs you can safely keep at room temperature, and it excludes GLP‑1 drugs. You or your prescriber can ask for a smaller supply. For controlled substances, plans pay only up to the legal maximum refill at one time. Plans may limit refills in the last quarter if you already got a 12‑month supply that plan year. A prescriber may temporarily limit fills to 90 days during an acute shortage. Plans may use drug‑utilization rules where allowed.
