Beginning June 11, 2026, new supervision and staffing rules apply to diagnostic, therapeutic, and MRI technologists. IV contrast can be supervised by a physician over live video, not audio-only. IV contrast can also be directly supervised by a physician, advanced practice nurse, or physician assistant. All other parenteral tasks must be directly supervised by a physician. Before IV contrast, trained clinical staff must be on-site to handle bad reactions. Supervisors must act within their legal scope of practice.
Beginning June 11, 2026, the law updates who counts as a radiologic technologist. It links diagnostic, therapeutic, and MRI technologists to the new supervision and procedure rules. This helps employers and the Health Department apply the law the same way.
