Beginning June 11, 2026, medically tailored meals in Apple Health must meet clear standards. A qualified medical professional reviews and approves menus, and your nutrition care plan guides the meals. Meals follow evidence-based guidelines and fit allergies and cultural preferences. Each meal provides at least 500 calories or your medical energy needs, and one-third of recommended carbs and protein. The state prioritizes nonprofit or small local vendors that use fresh, whole, locally sourced or from-scratch foods.
