Beginning June 11, 2026, the Department of Social and Health Services limits routine oversight of community residential service business providers. The department may do at most one routine review per year per provider in each area and must combine reviews when possible. The areas are client finances, client service plans, federal compliance, client community integration, provider finances, and general quality assurance. The department must set rules to share records across its divisions to avoid duplicate document requests. These limits do not cover adult protective services cases, incident or complaint investigations, citation follow-up, mortality reviews, or reviews required by law. Record sharing can be limited during ongoing investigations or when confidentiality rules prevent sharing.
