The law raises the limit on scheduled fundraising at exempt nonprofit public assembly halls and meeting places to 50 days a year. The old limit was 15 days. Properties keep their property tax exemption if fundraising stays at or below 50 days. This change starts January 1, 2027 for taxes collected in 2027 and later. The 50‑day limit remains in place beginning January 1, 2033.
The law says two state tax rules (RCW 82.32.805 and RCW 82.32.808) do not apply to this act. This is an administrative change and does not alter tax rates or who qualifies. It takes effect January 1, 2027.
