The law updates how landlords can serve eviction and similar notices. A mailed notice from within Washington counts once it is put in the U.S. mail, properly addressed with postage paid. If your home address is unknown, the notice can be mailed to the rental address, and a copy may be posted if no suitable person is found at the property. For businesses, if no officer or agent is on site, service can be posted and mailed to the business at the property address. You get five extra days after a mailed notice before a case can start, and every termination notice must list the exact move-out or compliance date.
