Park district centers can host libraries

Beginning July 27, 2025, park and recreation districts can put a public library inside a community center. The library must use less than 50 percent of the center’s usable space. Any library inside must follow Washington’s public library law (chapter 27.12 RCW). This helps communities combine services in one place; the law does not add new funding.
