2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.
Nonprofits that buy school-district-surplus property to make a community center do not pay property taxes on it for 40 years from purchase. The nonprofit must own the property only and use it to deliver nonresidential, coordinated services to the community. For taxes collected in 2026 through 2035, surplus property from a state university also qualifies if a nonprofit buys and converts it into a community center.
These changes apply to property taxes collected in 2026 through 2035. RCW 82.32.808 does not apply to this law, so agencies cannot use that statute to limit or change how it works.
