The Washington State Leadership Board now runs and grows programs for youth, veterans, and people with disabilities. Programs include Washington World Fellows, Boundless Washington, Compassion Scholars, and sports mentoring. These programs offer education, sports, leadership, and job opportunities. Slots and services depend on funding and availability.
The leadership board can ask for and accept gifts, grants, and endowments from public or private sources. It can spend that money, and any earnings, for the board’s mission and the terms of the gift. Private donations cannot replace the board’s state budget; they must fund projects lawmakers did not fund. The legislature can also give money when funds are available.
