Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Free statewide online IEP system

The Superintendent of Public Instruction runs a free, statewide online IEP system. Districts, charter schools, and state-tribal schools use it at no cost. It protects student privacy with secure, role-based access. It includes translation, accessibility support, and family access to progress and goals tied to standards. It can connect IEP transition plans to the High School and Beyond Plan to cut duplicate work. The state also offers training and technical help for staff and families.

IEP and high school plans aligned

For students with an IEP, the high school and beyond plan matches their school-to-postschool transition plan. Schools develop and update it using the same approach as for other students. The plan connects to the statewide IEP system as much as possible to reduce duplicate steps.

Math required in 9th and 10th

If a student has not earned level 3 or 4 on the middle school math test by ninth grade, the plan requires math in both ninth and tenth grade. Those classes can be career and technical education math equivalents. This adds a course requirement but gives flexible options.
