Hearing and speech clinicians choose telehealth or in-person

Beginning June 11, 2026, your audiologist, speech therapist, or hearing aid specialist can choose telehealth or in-person care. The licensing board cannot make rules that block a clinician’s judgment on the right setting for you. The board still sets safety and quality rules, like training, supervision, documentation, equipment checks, consumer notices, and safe hearing-aid fitting and follow-up. Those rules must not stop your clinician from using telehealth when it is appropriate.
