Insurance must cover chemo scalp cooling

Beginning January 1, 2027, health plans regulated by West Virginia that cover chemotherapy must also cover scalp cooling systems. These devices help prevent or reduce hair loss during chemo and must meet Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services guidance. Coverage applies when your policy is issued or renewed on or after that date. Your normal deductible, copays, and coinsurance can still apply, set like other benefits.
