Yearly check of Medicaid waiver pay rates

The law adds four programs to the yearly Medicaid rate review. They are Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Aged and Disabled, Personal Care, and Traumatic Brain Injury waivers. The Bureau for Medical Services runs a yearly study to check if provider pay rates are adequate. It must consider inflation, contract changes, and staffing costs. It must compare similar programs in West Virginia and other states. Contracted providers must give financial data when asked. The Bureau sends a report, with findings, recommendations, and draft bills, to the Joint Committee on Finance each year starting July 1, 2024. The act takes effect June 10, 2026.
