2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Half-price tuition and $50 audits for seniors

Under the senior program, if you take a class for credit, your tuition cannot be more than 50% of the normal resident rate. If you audit, you cannot get a grade or credit, and tuition and fees (not counting lab or parking) are capped at $50 per class. Colleges may change the $50 audit cap by rule. Qualified nonresident auditors cannot be charged more than 150% of the resident rate.

Reduced-cost college access for West Virginia seniors

The law requires every public college to run a reduced-tuition program for older adults. It offers two paths: audit classes with no credit, or take classes for credit. You qualify if you live in West Virginia (or are a metro student), are 60 or older, and there is space in the class. Colleges set who gets priority and whether lab or parking fees apply. The program covers in-person and online classes.
