Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Equipment and ramp loans for ALS families

Beginning June 10, 2026, West Virginia offers loans for assistive tech, medical equipment, and ramp materials for people with ALS. Caregivers can use the program too. The loans help you get costly items and stay safe at home. The law promotes reuse of ramps and equipment. It does not set loan terms, interest rates, or dollar limits.

Care coordination and clinics for ALS

Beginning June 10, 2026, the state runs the West Virginia ALS Care Services Program through the Department of Human Services. If you live with ALS, you can get care coordination, disease education, and help navigating benefits and services. Caregivers can get support and links to resources. The program helps you reach multidisciplinary ALS clinics that address many needs in one visit. The law does not set clinic locations, payment rules, or funding amounts.
