Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 3 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Prescriptions allowed for FDA-approved psilocybin

Doctors can prescribe a psilocybin drug only after the FDA approves it and the DEA reschedules it. Pharmacies can dispense the approved product as the FDA recommends. This includes drugs with organic psilocybin or crystalline polymorph psilocybin.

Faster state drug scheduling in emergencies

The Board of Pharmacy can add, delete, or move drugs between sessions in an emergency. It must base changes on FDA recommendations and approval. The Board must report actions on the first day of the next regular session. This can speed patient access to FDA-recommended drugs.

FDA-approved CBD and nabiximols allowed

You can be prescribed an FDA-approved cannabidiol (CBD) or nabiximols product. Pharmacies and distributors can sell it under state law. The DEA sets the schedule, which the state follows. Only FDA-approved products are covered.
