Must set up an Air Force Reserve Command. The Secretary of the Air Force, with help from the Air Force Chief of Staff, must run it as a separate Air Force command. The Chief of Air Force Reserve is the Command’s leader and reports directly to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force. The Secretary must assign all Air Force Reserve forces in the continental United States to this Command, except units already assigned to the unified combatant command for special operations forces under section 167. Unless the Secretary of Defense says otherwise for units doing duties listed in section 9013, the Secretary must place those forces with the combatant commands as the Secretary of Defense directs.
