Department of Defense health-care resources must be shared with the Department of Veterans Affairs under section 8111 of title 38 or section 1535 of title 31. Under those agreements, the Secretary of a military department may reimburse the Secretary of Veterans Affairs from military health funds for care paid under sections 1079 or 1086. The Secretary of Defense may set premiums, deductibles, copayments, or other charges for covered beneficiaries under those agreements. Members on active duty during and right after a war, or during and right after a national emergency involving armed conflict, may get VA health care under section 8111A of title 38.
