Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle E— - Reserve Components › Part PART IV— - TRAINING FOR RESERVE COMPONENTS AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS › Chapter CHAPTER 1608— - HEALTH PROFESSIONS STIPEND PROGRAM › § 16203
Under rules set by the Secretary of Defense, a member who is dropped from the program for poor training or other reasons must, as the service Secretary decides, either serve one year of active duty for each year (or part of a year) they were given financial help under this law, or repay the money under 37 U.S.C. 303a(e) or 373. The service Secretary can waive that requirement under those rules, but a waiver does not remove any other military duties required by law. Anyone already getting financial help under section 2107 may not get help under this law.
