Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle F— - Alternative Military Personnel Systems › Part PART I— - SPACE FORCE › Chapter CHAPTER 2003— - STATUS AND PARTICIPATION › § 20103
The Secretary of the Air Force can make a written deal with a Space Force member who is not on long-term active duty. The deal can require a set period of active service, list the service terms, and for inactive members set rules about staying in the force and being ordered to active duty with or without their consent. The Secretary must make rules saying what such deals can include, each party’s duties, and penalties for breaking them. If the agreed service ends during a war or a national emergency declared by Congress or the President, the member may be kept on active duty without consent as allowed by law.
