Summary

The Secretary of Defense must create and keep a Defense Civilian Training Corps at one or more units in accredited colleges that grant bachelor's degrees. The Corps trains selected students for civilian Department of Defense jobs that fill critical skill gaps needed under national defense and security strategies (see section 113(g) of this title and section 108 of the National Security Act of 1947 (50 U.S.C. 3043)). The Under Secretary for Acquisition and Sustainment may use an academic Acquisition Innovation Research Center (see section 4142(a)) to help run the program.
