Defines key words used in this subchapter. "Logistic support, supplies, and services" means many kinds of supplies and help, like food, transport (including airlift), fuel, medical care, ammunition, base‑operations support, spare parts, repairs, and port services. It also includes temporary use of general‑purpose vehicles and other nonlethal military gear not listed as "significant military equipment" on the U.S. Munitions List under section 38(a)(1) of the Arms Export Control Act. "North Atlantic Treaty Organization subsidiary bodies" means organizations covered by NATO status treaties signed at Ottawa on September 20, 1951 (TIAS 2992; 5 UST 1087) and Paris on August 28, 1952 (TIAS 2978; 5 UST 870). "Military region" means the geographic area assigned to a unified combatant command commander, excluding Europe and adjacent waters. "Transfer" means selling (for money, replacement‑in‑kind, or equal exchange), leasing, loaning, or otherwise temporarily providing the logistic support, supplies, and services under a cross‑servicing agreement.
