Summary

The Secretary of Defense may give up to $200,000,000 to the NATO Innovation Fund. This can only be done during the five years after the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025 becomes law, and only using money Congress has approved for that use. NATO — the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. NATO Innovation Fund — a multi-country investment fund that makes secure investments in high-impact, dual-use technology (technology useful for both civilian and military purposes).

(a)Within amounts authorized by law for such purpose during the five-year period following the date of the enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025, the Secretary of Defense may contribute to the NATO Innovation Fund a total amount of no more than $200,000,000.
(b)In this section:
(1)The term “NATO” means the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
(2)The term “NATO Innovation Fund” means the multi-sovereign, investment venture capital fund of NATO that provides secure investment in dual-use, high-impact technology.
