Around June 1 and December 1 each year, the officials named below must brief the Senate and House Armed Services Committees about missile defense policies, operations, technology development, and other related topics the committees ask for. The officials are the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition; the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy; the Director of the Missile Defense Agency; and the Joint Staff Director for Strategy, Plans, and Policy. An official may have a Senior Executive Service member who reports to them give the briefing. The requirement ends on January 1, 2028.
