The President may give a Distinguished Flying Cross and matching ribbon to any person serving with the Army who shows heroism or an extraordinary achievement while taking part in a flight. A person may receive only one cross, but for each later act that would justify another cross the President may give a bar or other attachment to add to it, as the President directs. No cross or attachment may be given if the person's service after the act was not honorable.
